Ashi Waliany
Principal & FounderAshi Waliany is the founder and principal of Cusp Interiors, a San Francisco–based interior design studio known for creating layered, emotionally resonant homes that balance sophistication with livability. Her work blends bold use of color, rich materiality, and architectural sensitivity with a deep understanding of how families truly live within their spaces.
Drawing inspiration from fashion, travel, hospitality, and the character of older homes, Ashi’s interiors are defined by contrast — classic and contemporary, refined and unexpected, glamorous yet deeply comfortable. Her spaces often weave together vintage references, expressive textiles, sculptural lighting, and collected details to create interiors that feel personal, immersive, and enduring.
Before founding Cusp Interiors in 2020, Ashi spent several years owning and operating restaurants, an experience that shaped her highly collaborative approach to client service, project management, and problem solving. Following the renovation of her own family home, she formally pursued studies in Interior Design and Interior Architecture at UC Berkeley while training under several respected Bay Area designers.
Since launching the studio, Ashi and Cusp Interiors have been recognized for a distinctive point of view that merges high design with warmth and approachability. The firm’s work has been featured in publications including House Beautiful, California Homes, San Francisco Magazine, Business of Home, and Luxe Interiors + Design. Ashi was also named to House Beautiful’s Next Wave class of 2025 and the AD PRO Directory.
Ashi holds a BA in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Georgetown University. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and two sons.
